We understand that Oriental and area rugs can vary in construction, condition
and type of soil found. These factors determine our individualized care;
we do not employ a "one size fits all"
technique. We choose the right procedure, which will best preserve the
beauty and value of your family’s rugs.
Our process begins with a thorough inspection followed with a dye test to
determine if your rug will bleed.
From there we use a specialized rug duster harnessing over 30,000 vibration
strokes per minute to vacuum and dislodge even the most stubborn soil and
sediments trapped deep in your carpet.
Our rug duster is unmatched for removing grit from thick or very dense
rugs. Other Oriental rug cleaners
may only use household vacuum cleaners, which do not remove this grit. Removing
this grit is truly critical to the continued health of your rug, as grit is very
abrasive and cuts at the fibers of the rug, wearing away at them to reduce your
rug's life and beauty.
Do not be misled by claims of "hand cleaning" made by some Oriental and area rug
cleaners and dealers. In many cases, what they actually use are rotary scrubbing
machines, which can be far too aggressive
and injure some rugs.
Since our inception, our family has “hand washed” rugs from start to finish utilizing hand held brushes,
which deliver the gentle mechanical action that is required and implied by the
term "hand cleaning." Our hand washing
cleans your rugs down to the base of the knots, while surface washing used at
many cleaners can leave soil and detergents injurious to your rug.
Tru-Clean Carpet & Tile Care uses very specific cleaning solutions based on the
type of rug we are cleaning. Our
solutions are gentle and environmentally friendly.
We are specialists in pet urine and odor removal and our in-house rug
specialist is certified by the world’s most respected certification body for
textile professionals, the IICRC.
Once your rug(s) have been cleaned we have engineered a process with
humidistatic controls for safe and effective drying. Any other method of drying
is not as safe. Inexperienced cleaners
have a tendency to submit Oriental rugs to an extended drying time that is
harmful to the rug cleaning process, and can cause a multitude of problems,
including color bleeding, shrinkage and browning.
Some believe that the faster a rug dries, the faster they can return it
to the customer and collect their invoice.
Our family will never rush the
cleaning or drying time on any rug.
Unlike larger facilities, ours is not a fully automated system like a car
wash. Our hands-on approach allows us to intervene in the process at any given
time to attend to a specific need and manicuring.
Your Oriental rugs are cleaned at our facility, by members of our family. We
never use contractors and we never take
short cuts.
