Mattress Cleaning

Who MITE you be sleeping with tonight?

Are you exposed to up to 2 million mites in your mattress? The mattress is, without a doubt, one of the dirtiest objects we come in contact with each day.

Years back, mattress cleaning was not really ever thought of until more and more documented facts gathered. Documented reports show that symptoms of dust mite survive under warm, dark and humid conditions. Dust mites are tiny animals you cannot see unless by magnification. It's a known fact; every home naturally has dust mites. They feed on skin flakes and are found in mattresses, pillows, carpets, upholstered furniture, bedcovers, clothes, stuffed toys, and fabric or other fabric covered items.

Allergies resulting from dust mites include wheezing or tight chest, itchy or watery eyes, blocked nose passages, sneezing, asthma, sinus symptoms, eczema, night-time coughing for no reason, and hay fever. Would you believe that dust mite excrement and skin particles can equal up to a pound per year in a mattress?

The causes of this unhygienic and health threatening state of affairs are numerous and complex. Men, women and children spend years on mattresses that are extremely soiled and thus dangerous to their health. It is erroneous to believe that a sheet will protect against this kind of dirt. A bed sheet protects against these particles about as much as fishing net would protect against sand.

We have found that a mattress cleaning is dependent upon a person's health, their environment, pets and personal preference. We normally recommend that a new mattress be cleaned once a year to ensure a better sleep atmosphere. Older mattresses may require more frequent cleanings. When it comes to children, please make it a special priority every few months.

Keeping your mattress clean is not always the easiest task, especially if you have young children and pets living in your home. Nothing is worse than having recently spent a large sum of money on a good quality pillow top mattress and then finding out that your dog has just urinated on it.

If you or anyone in your family identifies with any of the following allergy related maladies such as Asthma, Eczema, Hay Fever, Bronchitis, Inflammation of the Mucous Membranes, Itchy Red Eyes, Headaches, Sinus Pain, Fatigue, early morning fits of excessive sneezing, even a feeling of depression when you wake up, you may well be sleeping with the enemy. Dust mites!

Years ago, your grandparents and possibly your parents regularly dragged their mattresses out into the garden on a cold day and beat them for half an hour or more. They knew what was good for you! The cold killed the dust mites and the beating removed their excrement and other contaminants and the fresh air helped air out the mattresses. Nowadays, due to the weight and composition of the modern mattress, they simply weigh too much to carry outside and cleaning technology has advanced to the level where mattresses can be cleaned and allergens reduced in one simple visit.

At Tru-Clean Carpet & Tile Care, we provide a thorough and professional mattress cleaning using the highest quality products. We employ high-powered vacuum cleaners to remove most of the dust, skin and mites and then use a powerful truck mounted system and environmentally friendly chemicals to remove staining and odors. When we've completed the process, your mattresses will be bright, fresh and odor free.

It's so good to sleep in a really clean-fresh bed!

"As you already know, I discussed your mattress dust mite removal service with our daughter's pediatrician. She agreed that we should try your services. Our daughter's asthma condition has improved and my husband and I can feel the difference as well. We will continue using your services. I never knew what a "dust mite" was or the effect they have on our health."
