Why is the
Rotovac better than a wand?
The manual scrub wand is a good cleaning tool for cleaning lightly soiled
carpet. When cleaning more heavily soiled carpet, the wand becomes a "beast of
burden." Cleaning results depend upon the strength, stamina, and technique of
the person working the wand. Cleaning heavily soiled carpets with a scrub wand
is "hard labor." The repetitive motion of scrubbing back and forth is extremely
strenuous and fatiguing.
First and foremost the Rotovac is an electric power tool. Comparing the
Rotovac to a wand is like comparing a skill saw to a hand saw. We have converted
a back and forth manual task to a much easier and more efficient rotary
mechanized operation.
The Rotovac makes more cleaning passes per minute than is possible with a
manual scrub wand. In addition, the cleaning passes are from all directions
rather than just back and forth. This is what produces better cleaning results
with far less operator fatigue.
The counter-rotating cleaning heads of the Rotovac allow it to glide back and
forth over the carpet with an easy one-handed operation, very similar to using
an upright vacuum cleaner.
How soon can I walk on my carpeting once it has been cleaned?
Keep pets, children and regular traffic off of the carpet for a period of 2
hours. The home owner may use the carpet lightly immediately after cleaning by
wearing the booties we provide. Wait 12 hours before removing foam blocks and
paper tabs that are put in place to protect your furniture and carpet. Some
carpets may still feel slightly damp for up to 4 hours depending on carpet,
soiling condition and weather. This is normal and will not cause any problems.
We utilize the latest turbo drying technologies to remove approximately 95% of
all moisture before we leave your home.
Do you move the
furniture?
Yes our regular pricing includes moving sofas, chairs, tables, end tables,
etc. However beds, entertainment centers, computers and heavier pieces of
furniture are left in place due to liability issues.
Do you clean Berber?
Absolutely, Berber is a weave, not a particular type of fabric. Berber is
simply a type of loop construction that may come in olefin, nylon, wool, or a
blend. Berber requires a more thorough cleaning than other carpets because the
"flushing" action needs to take place to get under, around, and through the
loops. Other companies that are not as thorough as we are do have problems with
Berber because of leaving soil behind that "wicks" back to the surface.
What is the best
cleaning method?
The most popular cleaning method and recommended by most major carpet mills
and The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification is known
as Steam Cleaning or Hot water extraction. There are basically 2 types:
A: The portable machine that plugs into your household current (the consumer
ones like you would rent at a supermarket are not very good because they are very
limited in power and can leave your carpet very wet taking several days to dry).
B: A much more preferred method is the powerful truck-mounted hot water
extraction unit, which we use. This is a large powerful unit mounted in a van.
The process goes something like this: Here again a pre-spray cleaner is applied
to the carpet and then rinsed out with very hot soft water and a neutralizing
agent. The rinsing temperature can be adjusted to between 120 to 210 degrees
depending on the type of carpet and soiling conditions that are found. This is
the method we use and is the method recommended by Shaw Carpet Industries, the
largest carpet manufacturer in the world. DuPont as well as all the other large
manufacturers also recommend hot water extraction; in fact they require it, to
honor their warranties.
Why do stains and traffic patterns keep coming back? Can you
solve this problem?
YES we can! Recurring stains and traffic patterns occur as a result of
improper cleaning which leaves soap and oily residue in the carpet. This residue
attracts and absorbs dirt, dust and grime. Continued use of the area permits
tracking of the
residue throughout the remainder of the carpeted area - resulting in an overall
dull and dirty film coating the carpet fibers.
Why do pet odors return when I use "over-the-counter" odor
removers?
Over-the-Counter remedies deal only with the carpet surface, and do nothing
to deal with the entire problem which reaches through the fibers, into and
through the carpet backing, into and through the carpet padding, and finally
into the sub-flooring (concrete or plywood.
Why does my room smell musty after I had a water leak and the
carpet has dried?
Without experienced professionals with commercial drying and aeration
equipment to thoroughly dry water damaged carpet, padding and sub-flooring,
mildew and mold will quickly set in, destroying your carpet, pad and even the
sub-flooring. Recovering from water damage is always best left to trained
professionals.
I have old pet stains on my carpet. I have tried and tried to get

successful process to remove most, if not all, pet stains. We provide multiple
solutions to this problem, in order to deal with stains of different types, ages
and intensities.
I have old wine and cool-aid stains in my carpet, can you remove
them?
Yes! With our special "Heat Transfer" restoration process, we are able to
remove these and other very difficult stains, leaving your carpet with its
'pre-stain' appearance.
